Bespoke Timber Windows
Handcrafted in Yorkshire
Heritage & Period Property Expertise
Accoya® & Premium Timber Options
Our bespoke timber windows are individually designed and handcrafted to order in our workshop in Rylstone, near Skipton. From traditional sliding sash and flush casement windows to stormproof casements, mock sash and heritage designs, each window is carefully developed around the architecture, character and requirements of the property.
Working with carefully selected Accoya®, European Oak and Sapele, we manufacture timber windows for period properties, listed buildings, country homes, barn conversions and contemporary architecture. Traditional proportions, glazing bars and mouldings can be carefully reproduced where appropriate, while modern glazing, architectural ironmongery and professional factory-applied finishes provide the performance expected from high-quality bespoke joinery.
From our Yorkshire workshop, we design and manufacture bespoke timber windows for homeowners, architects and contractors throughout the Yorkshire Dales and surrounding areas, with both supply-only and professional installation available.
Bespoke Timber Sliding Sash Windows
Bespoke timber sliding sash windows combine traditional proportions and architectural detailing with modern glazing, security and everyday performance. They are particularly well suited to period properties, listed buildings, conservation projects and homes where authentic sash window character is important.
Each window is individually made to order and can incorporate traditional weighted box sash or spring balance systems, together with bespoke glazing bars, sash horns, mouldings, architectural ironmongery and professional factory-applied finishes.
Bespoke Timber Flush Casement Windows
Bespoke timber flush casement windows offer a refined, traditionally proportioned appearance, with the opening sash sitting neatly within the outer frame. Their understated design makes them particularly well suited to period properties, country homes, cottages and heritage architecture, while also complementing contemporary properties where clean timber detailing is desired.
Each flush casement window is individually made to order, with a choice of Accoya®, European Oak or Sapele alongside bespoke glazing bars, mouldings, opening configurations, architectural ironmongery and professional factory-applied finishes.
Bespoke Timber Stormproof Casement Windows
Bespoke timber stormproof casement windows feature an overlapping sash that sits slightly proud of the outer frame, creating a more defined profile than a flush casement window. Their practical design makes them particularly well suited to rural properties, exposed locations and homes where weather resistance is an important consideration.
Each stormproof casement window is individually made to order, with a choice of Accoya®, European Oak or Sapele alongside bespoke glazing bars, mouldings, opening configurations, architectural ironmongery and professional factory-applied finishes.
Bespoke Timber Mock Sash Windows
Bespoke timber mock sash windows recreate the traditional appearance and balanced proportions of sliding sash windows while using a casement-style opening mechanism. Details such as sash horns, glazing bars and meeting rails can be carefully considered to create a sash-inspired appearance suited to period properties, cottages, barn conversions and sympathetic renovations.
Each mock sash window is individually made to order, with a choice of Accoya®, European Oak or Sapele alongside bespoke glazing bars, mouldings, opening configurations, architectural ironmongery and professional factory-applied finishes.
Bespoke Heritage Timber Windows
Bespoke heritage timber windows are carefully designed to complement period properties, listed buildings, conservation projects and traditional architecture where proportions, detailing and material choice require particular consideration.
From glazing bars and traditional mouldings to timber selection, Heritage Double Glazing and carefully considered factory finishes, each window can be developed around the architectural character and requirements of the property.
Designed around your home
Every bespoke timber window is individually designed around the architecture, character and practical requirements of your property. From proportions and opening configurations to timber selection, glazing bars, mouldings and architectural detailing, each element is carefully considered as part of the overall design.
Depending on the window style, options can include High-Performance Double Glazing, Heritage Double Glazing, traditional or contemporary architectural ironmongery, secure locking systems and professional factory-applied paint or stain finishes.
Whether reproducing existing period windows or creating bespoke joinery for a contemporary property, our experienced team can guide you through the available options to develop a specification that complements both the building and the requirements of your project.

Frequently Asked Questions
We design and manufacture bespoke timber windows including sliding sash, flush casement, stormproof casement, mock sash and heritage timber windows. Every window is individually designed and manufactured to suit the architecture, proportions and requirements of the property.
Are your timber windows made to measure?
Yes. Every timber window is made to order rather than manufactured to standard sizes. Proportions, opening configurations, glazing bars, mouldings, timber selection, glazing, architectural ironmongery and finishing details can all be considered as part of the individual design.
Which timbers do you use for your windows?
We manufacture our bespoke timber windows using carefully selected Accoya®, European Oak and Sapele. The most appropriate timber will depend on the window style, desired appearance, finish, exposure to weather and requirements of the project.
What glazing options are available?
Our glazing options include High-Performance Double Glazing, Heritage Double Glazing, toughened safety glass, laminated security glass, acoustic glazing, decorative and obscure glass, traditional leaded glazing and bespoke stained glass. The glazing specification is considered according to the window style, property and practical requirements of the project.
Can you manufacture windows for listed buildings and conservation areas?
Yes. We regularly manufacture bespoke timber windows for period properties, listed buildings and conservation projects. Traditional proportions and detailing can be carefully reproduced where appropriate, although planning or consent requirements will depend on the individual property and proposed work.
Do I need planning permission to replace timber windows?
Planning permission is not always required when replacing windows, but additional restrictions can apply to listed buildings, properties within conservation areas or those affected by an Article 4 Direction. Listed Building Consent may also be required where alterations affect the character of a listed building.
Requirements vary according to the property and proposed work, so we recommend checking with your Local Planning Authority where appropriate.
Can I choose the colour and finish of my windows?
Yes. Our timber windows are professionally factory finished, with most paint specifications available alongside a carefully selected range of stains and protective finishes where the natural character of the timber will remain visible.
Do you install your bespoke timber windows?
Yes. We offer professional installation alongside supply-only manufacture, allowing the service to be tailored to the requirements of your project.
Which areas do you cover?
From our workshop in Rylstone, near Skipton, we design, manufacture and install bespoke timber windows throughout Yorkshire and surrounding areas, including Harrogate, York, Ilkley, Wharfedale, Wensleydale, Nidderdale, the Yorkshire Dales, Calder Valley, the Ribble Valley and the South Lake District. We also undertake selected bespoke joinery projects further afield.
