Bespoke Joinery Installation Services in Yorkshire
At James Wilding Joinery, we offer a complete bespoke joinery service, from initial design and manufacture through to expert installation. Our skilled craftsmen install the products they have helped create, ensuring the same attention to detail and high standards continue from our Yorkshire workshop through to your home.
Unlike many companies, we do not separate the manufacture and installation process. Our installation team are experienced bench joiners who understand the construction, materials and craftsmanship that goes into every piece of joinery we produce. This knowledge allows them to carefully install your bespoke timber windows, doors, staircases, kitchens and fitted furniture with precision and care.
Made by us. Installed by us.
From the first stages of manufacture through to final fitting, your joinery is handled by our own experienced team. Because our installers have a detailed understanding of how each product is made, they are able to ensure every element is fitted correctly and finished to the high standards expected from James Wilding Joinery.
Whether you require a single replacement timber door, a new bespoke kitchen, or a complete installation of timber windows and doors throughout your home, we can provide a professional service tailored to your project. If you would like installation included, simply let us know during the quotation stage and we can discuss your requirements and provide a detailed cost.
When replacing timber windows and doors, it is important that installations meet current Building Regulations and thermal performance requirements. As a FENSA registered company, we are able to provide a comprehensive timber window and door installation service, giving you confidence that your joinery is installed correctly and to the highest standards.
Serving homeowners, architects and trade professionals across Skipton, Ilkley, Harrogate, Wharfedale, Craven, Settle, the Ribble Valley and the Yorkshire Dales, James Wilding Joinery provides a complete design, manufacture and installation service for high-quality bespoke joinery.
What is FENSA?
FENSA is a government-authorised scheme that ensures replacement window and door installations comply with current Building Regulations. FENSA Approved Installers are regularly assessed to ensure they continue to meet the required standards for installation quality, energy efficiency and compliance.
As a FENSA registered company, James Wilding Joinery can provide homeowners with confidence that their replacement timber windows and doors are installed correctly and in accordance with the latest regulations.
Why choose a FENSA Registered Installer?
When replacing external windows and doors, it is important that the installation meets legal requirements for thermal performance, safety and building regulations. A FENSA certificate provides proof that your installation has been completed by an approved installer and registered with the local council.
Your FENSA certificate is an important document that should be retained, as it may be required when selling your property. It also provides reassurance that your installation has been completed professionally.
Certified Compliance
After the work is complete, you will be given a certificate to prove that the work complies with building regulations. You should keep this certificate safe as you will require this if you decide to sell your property. If you lose the certificate, it is possible to re-order another via the FENSA website.
What’s covered?
FENSA covers the replacement of external windows, doors, roof windows and roof lights. Please note that the property must be cited on its original footprint, and the use and size of rooms mustn’t be altered.
What’s not covered?
FENSA doesn’t cover replacement windows and doors for conservatories, porches, new builds, extensions, repairs (frame not included) and commercial properties.
What does FENSA cover?
FENSA applies to the replacement of external windows, doors, roof windows and roof lights in existing homes. It confirms that the installation complies with current Building Regulations and meets the required standards.
FENSA does not cover all types of work, including new builds, extensions, conservatories, porches, commercial properties or projects where the structure or use of the building has been altered.
When will I receive my FENSA certificate?
Following completion of your installation, your FENSA certificate will be issued once the work has been registered. This provides a record that your replacement windows or doors have been installed by an approved professional.
At James Wilding Joinery, our FENSA registration is part of our commitment to providing a complete, professional service — from bespoke design and manufacture in our Yorkshire workshop through to expert installation in your home.
