Bespoke Timber Windows & Doors Across Yorkshire, Lancashire & Cumbria
Award winning joinery
Handmade in Yorkshire
FENSA Registered Installer
From our workshop in Rylstone, near Skipton, James Wilding Joinery designs and manufactures bespoke timber windows and doors for homes and properties throughout Yorkshire and surrounding areas of Lancashire and Cumbria.
Our work takes us across the Yorkshire Dales, Wharfedale, Nidderdale, Wensleydale, Craven and the Ribble Valley, as well as towns, villages and rural communities throughout the wider region.
We work with a wide variety of properties, from traditional cottages, Georgian and Victorian homes and listed buildings to farmhouses, barn conversions and carefully designed contemporary properties. Every project is individually considered, with the design, proportions, timber, glazing and detailing developed around the architecture and requirements of the property.
Whether you’re replacing existing timber windows and doors, restoring period joinery or planning bespoke joinery for a renovation, extension or new home, our experienced team can guide you through the available options.
Areas We Cover
Our location guides explore some of the towns, villages and rural areas where we regularly manufacture and install bespoke timber windows and doors, along with the architectural character and property styles found within each area.
The locations below are not an exhaustive list of the areas we cover. If your town or village isn’t shown, please get in touch to discuss your project.
Bespoke Joinery Designed Around Your Property
The most appropriate timber windows and doors will depend on the architecture, age and character of the property, as well as the requirements of the individual project.
At James Wilding Joinery, every piece of bespoke joinery is made to order in our Yorkshire workshop. We manufacture a wide range of timber windows and doors for traditional, heritage and contemporary properties, with proportions, materials and architectural detailing carefully considered around each building.
Our bespoke timber windows include flush casement windows, sliding sash windows, heritage windows and other made-to-measure designs, while our timber door range includes external entrance doors, stable doors, French doors, bi-fold doors and internal doors.
Depending on the project, joinery can be manufactured in carefully selected Accoya®, European Oak or Sapele, with glazing, architectural ironmongery and professional factory-applied finishes specified according to the application and desired appearance.
Heritage, Listed & Conservation Properties
Many of the towns, villages and rural areas we work across are home to listed buildings, conservation areas and period properties where the proportions and detailing of traditional timber joinery form an important part of the building’s architectural character.
For these projects, existing and original windows and doors can inform the design of the new joinery, including proportions, glazing layouts, glazing bars, mouldings, panel arrangements and other architectural details where appropriate.
Bespoke manufacture allows the specification to be developed around the individual property, with timber, glazing, ironmongery and finishes selected according to the requirements of the project.
Planning permission, Listed Building Consent or other restrictions may apply depending on the property and proposed work. Requirements should therefore be checked with the relevant Local Planning Authority where appropriate.
