Choice of window furniture

As with all our products our timber windows are fully bespoke and handmade to order, meaning we can match existing designs or work with you or an architect to create a different look to your property.

Timber Sliding Sash Windows

Here at James Wilding Joinery we have combined traditional styles with modern production techniques to produce a quality timber sliding sash window, fully bespoke to suit the requirements of you and your home with customisable glazing bar designs and a range of window furniture for you to choose from.

  • Our highly skilled joiners are also able to utilise curves in your sliding sash design
  • We have many options to suit each individual project such as spring balance, spiral balance and traditional weighted sash windows

Timber Casement Windows

We offer two casement window options: flush and stormproof. With flush casements or traditional, the window or sash sits flush to the frame, whereas stormproof windows sit proud of the frame, to ensure additional protection from bad weather.

With a wide range of opening and layout options, including using glazing bars and incorporating curves and arches, we are able to customise both flush and stormproof timber casement windows to provide a perfect fit for your project.

Timber Mock Sash Windows

We also manufacture made to measure timber mock sash windows, finished with decorative horns to provide a traditional sash window appearance. Our mock sash windows have the same look as our timber sliding sash windows but are operated like a casement window, meaning an authentic look from the outside to add character to your home, but avoiding the higher cost of traditional sash windows.

  • With customisable options including glazing bars

Glazing

We have a wide variety of glazing options available and are able to achieve energy efficient U-values (measuring the insulation capabilities). For those looking to achieve a truly authentic appearance, we are able to supply a range of timber window styles with decorative glazing bars to replicate traditional features. These options may be particularly useful should you live in a period property or within a conservation area.

Our experienced joiners are able to utilize a wide range of different glass including toughened and argon-filled double glazing for greater levels of security.

IRONMONGERY

We have a large selection of ironmongery from various ranges with traditional and contemporary designs.

We have standard ranges of door and window furniture, typically available in black, satin chrome, shiny chrome and brass, but these can be customised to utilise different ranges or the customers own ironmongery. We are happy to source and fit ironmongery of your choice and are even able to commission one off pieces for that extra special touch.

FINISHING

James Wilding Joinery have a fully-equipped spray shop offering a finishing facility for our manufactured joinery products. This enables your product to be installed without the need for time consuming finishing by hand.

We are approved sprayers certified by industry leaders Teknos who provide high performance microporous paint systems, with high weather resistance and measured durability.

We are able to colour match most paint brands, meaning there is an almost unlimited colour choice.

We also work with a range of different stains if you are looking for an alternative to paint finishing.

Planning Permission

In certain circumstances, when replacing doors and windows, permission is required, this is the norm in the National Parks or if your building is listed, it can also be required if you are planning to drastically change the appearance of your property or carry our other alterations. We are here to help, should you need us, whether you require assistance with the planning application, drawings or meetings.

It is ultimately the customer’s responsibility to get the works signed off, by way of submitting a building notice. The local authority will send out an independent building inspector to survey the works and sign these off providing you with a certificate of compliance, proof that the installation carried out complies with current building regulations. We have many years experience working closely with building inspectors and local authorities and are more than happy to assist our customers in anyway we can.
